Bio

Stephen Maine is a painter based in West Cornwall, Connecticut. His work has been seen recently at Private Public Gallery, Hudson, NY; PFA Gallery, Washington, DC; G-Town Arts, Georgetown, CT; Flinn Gallery, Greenwich, CT; and in New York City at Westbeth Gallery, Satchel Projects, and Hionas Gallery. His shows have been covered in ARTnews, Artcritical.com, Two Coats of Paint, The New Criterion, and the Brooklyn Rail. He is a longstanding member of American Abstract Artists and the International Association of Art Critics.

Stephen has curated exhibitions at the Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum in Ridgefield, CT; Alpan Gallery in Huntington, NY; and, in Manhattan, at The Shirley Fiterman Art Center at Borough of Manhattan Community College, The Painting Center, Lesley Heller Workspace, Frederieke Taylor Gallery, and the Visual Arts Gallery. He has taught in the Graduate Fine Arts department at the School of Visual Arts in Manhattan; Parsons School of Design; Hartford Art School, University of Hartford; and Purchase College of the State University of New York.
