Bio

Derek Buckner grew up in Brooklyn, New York. He went on to study at Vassar College and received his B.F.A. from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. He has exhibited in New York, Los Angeles, Santa Fe, Chicago, England, Italy, Mexico and Korea. He has had ten solo exhibitions with the George Billis gallery in New York and Los Angeles,  In 2012 his work was exhibited at the Washington County Museum of Fine Arts. His work is in numerous private and corporate collections in this country and abroad, and has been reviewed in The New Yorker, The New York Times,  Art News, The New York Sun and The Wall Street Journal, among many other publications. Derek Buckner currently lives in Brooklyn, NY, with his wife, the novelist Joanna Hershon and their three children.
