Artist Statement

My paintings of everyday objects are born out of a belief that the commonplace is rich subject matter and that there’s poetry to be found in the things that surround us. Paintings of flowers, teapots, vases, bowls and pots and pans are deliberately straightforward.

I strive to make paintings that are at once accessible and can reward long looking. I love art and take inspiration from a range of movements—from Roman wall paintings to 17th century Spanish still life’s to today’s art world.
