Bio

Francesco Lagnese is a contemporary photographer working across analog and digital formats. Based in New York City and Europe, his practice is rooted in experimentation and abstraction. He is best known for his Lunar Conversation series, in which the Moon becomes both subject and brush, creating luminous gestures across evocative landscapes.

Other notable projects include When I Close My Eyes and Dream of You, a red-toned body of work exploring memory and longing, and Flowers Attraction, a study of extreme close-ups of Dahlias, Peonies, and Roses. Lagnese also produces large-format photographs of historic interiors and has built a wide-ranging archive of landscapes and intimate documentary images captured on film.

His work often explores the spiritual and emotional dimensions of photography, blurring the line between documentation and abstraction. With international exhibitions including Les Rencontres d’Arles (France) and Century (Miami), Lagnese continues to be recognized for his meditative, sensory-rich approach to image-making.
